The Queensland Government provides financial assistance to low-income Queenslanders with a medical condition which requires the use of electricity for cooling or heating. The assistance is provided for a two year period, at which time eligibility is reviewed. The eligible applicant must require heating or cooling to prevent symptoms of their condition worsening. The applicant or legal guardian of a child with a qualifying medical condition must have a Health Care Card from Centrelink.
